Benefits of Cold Brew Coffee
Hot brewed coffee is far more acidic than cold-brewed, according to a number of scientific studies, and some say cold-brewed coffee even has a sweeter taste because of its lower acidity. In general, your body requires a delicate balance (pH) of acidity and alkalinity to function and heal.

Three of the primary benefits of cold brew coffee are discussed below:
- Prevents gastric acid secretion
When coffee is roasted a chemical called N-methylpyridinium (NMP) is formed. NMP prevents the secretion of gastric acid in the stomach and therefore, drinking coffee that is darker-roasted is far more advantageous than the light-roasted ones. However, cold brew does not depend on the roast type. Lightly roasted coffee is better for cold brews as it helps to preserve phytochemicals. - Less acidic
Cold brew coffee contains 67% less acid content and has great health benefits. The low temperature of the brewing process prevents the extraction of acids and reduces the content of acidity in the cold brew. - Contains powerful antioxidants
Cold brew contains high amounts of phytochemicals – a powerful antioxidant. According to recent findings, although green tea is said to be a powerhouse of phytochemicals, most of these antioxidants are destroyed due to the high temperature of the beverage. However, cold brew coffee preserves these phytochemicals as it is concocted at a low temperature. A strong antioxidant called chlorogenic acid is contained in coffee beans, but it is extremely heat-sensitive. Roasting coffee has wonderful health benefits since the dark roasts can break chlorogenic acid by 100% and light roasts by 60%. Cold brews do not have the same identical kick as hot brews but do have a unique flavor, which can be described as sweet and earthy.
Cold brew coffee provides a boost to one’s cardio performance and reduced the risk of gallbladder stones, colon cancer, and diabetes as well as enhancing liver health. The reason is simple – the chemical composition of cold brew coffee is distinctly different to the extent that it can reduce your caffeine craving.
