Vitamin A
This is generally found in lotions, night creams, and some prescription drugs. Their derivatives are known as retinoids. Vitamin A helps in spot-reduction, eliminates visibility and smoothens the skin’s contours. Retinoids must be mostly applied at night. A visible difference can be seen just after four to eight weeks of regularly applying retinoids. Retinoids contain retinol, which gradually converts to retinoic acid, that is an active ingredient of prescription creams. Almost a pea-sized amount of this has to be applied all over the face, and it works on almost all skin types.
Vitamin B3
It is found in creams and lotions and labeled as niacinamide. Vitamin B3 accentuates the production of two crucial skin’s protective barriers: ceramides, and fatty acids. It works wonders, especially for dry and protective skin types. Rosacea is a common skin condition that worsens with age – the Vitamin B3 ingredient of any moisturizer eliminates the possibility of this. Creams and lotions rich in Vitamin B3 can be applied in the morning or evening. Interestingly, retinoid and niacinamide can be mixed together and can be used for great anti-aging effects.
Vitamin C
The prominent function of Vitamin C is to exterminate free radicals, sagging skin, and wrinkles. It also evens the skin tone by reducing dark or brown spots. Skin often gets damaged under the sun and the usage of Vitamin C makes a significant difference in removal of fine lines or discoloration. It is both a defence and repair mechanism that makes the complexion almost perfect. Vitamin C should be mixed with the sunblock cream before going outdoors on sunny days. This will help protect the skin from harmful UV radiations .

Vitamin E
The predominant effect of this vitamin is to ease dryness. Apart from that, it also bolsters the UV defence mechanism of the skin. It is a mandatory ingredient in skin-care products. It helps retain the natural moisture of the skin while shedding dryness. It also neutralizes free radicals. Called as a superstar among all categories of vitamins, when Vitamin E is applied before moving out into the sun, there are less visible effects of redness or dryness. Vitamin E can be applied before or after exposure to the sun.
Vitamin K
This vitamin helps us look young and beautiful. It is found in under-eye creams that are supplemented with retinol. One major reason for dark circles is the fragile capillaries that allow blood to leak into the skin. By using a cream rich in Vitamin K for just four months, a significant in these dark circles can be seen. The presence of retinol in the cream also makes a prominent contribution as it thickens the translucent layer beneath the eyes. Under-eye creams rich in Vitamin K should be applied every night.
Vitamin D
The ability of the body to create Vitamin D diminishes with age. But it is an important ingredient to replenish the skin and boost our metabolism – which in turn minimizes dark spots and the production of painful acne. Although sunlight is the biggest source of Vitamin D, it is also available in form of supplements.
So, make sure your skin care regime includes all these essential vitamins.
