Home Remedies to Cure Your Sore Lips

Application of Ice-Cubes

Ice-cubes are the traditional remedy in cases of swelling, be it eyes, legs or swelling in any area of the body. Application of ice-cubes on the affected areas will always give you relief. In this case, you would need around 2 -3 ice-cubes and a clean washcloth, then, you would have to wrap the ice-cubes in the washcloth and apply it gently on the affected area for around 10-12 minutes and repeat the process after an interval of 10 minutes. Regular continuation of this process would help you a great deal and would surely provide relief to the sore and swollen areas of your lips.

Turmeric Powder

It is a well-established fact that turmeric powder has anti-inflammatory qualities which is highly beneficial for your skin. It can be very helpful in cases of swelling, burnt skin and even when it comes to reducing scars. Its anti-inflammatory elements like Curcumin is also known for its antiseptic and healing qualities. In the case of swollen lips, all you would need to do is make a paste of turmeric powder and mix it with cold water. After making the paste, apply it gently on the affected areas and allow it to dry.

Aloe-Vera

Aloe Vera is one of the best friends your skin can possibly have! In the case of swollen lips all you would have to do is cut a raw piece of an aloe vera plant and remove the gel present inside. Then, take a pea-sized amount, gently apply it on the affected areas and leave it untouched for as long as possible. Repeating this process twice a day for a week should surely help you and provide you relief from your current condition.

Baking Powder

Not many people are aware that baking soda can prove to be an effective remedy for skin issues. Baking soda contains antiseptic agents in addition to anti-inflammatory and soothing properties as well. It is quite a problem solver if the swelling has been caused due to an allergic reaction, insect bites or blisters. In case of swollen lips, all you would have to do is mix one teaspoon of soda with some water (250 ml approx) and make a thick paste. After making the paste, apply a thick coat of paste on the affected area and keep it untouched for 10 minutes and then wash it after 10 minutes. Doing it twice a day should suffice but if the results are taking a while, doing it after every 4-5 hours would surely help you with quick results.

Coconut Oil

Biotic natural oil is a quick fixer when it comes to curing skin ailments. It consists of nourishing as well as antimicrobial properties which comes handy in treating ailments caused by fungi, viruses etc. It also absorbs impurities and eliminates all the harmful bacteria present in your pores. In case of swollen or sore lips, apply a few drops of organic coconut oil on the affected areas and leave it on for a couple of hours. Regular application of coconut oil should provide you relief in approximately 3-4 days.

Honey

It is well known that honey has natural healing and antibacterial properties present in it. It has a wide use in all antibacterial medicines like ointments, throat lozenges etc. It is one of the fastest ways of getting relief in the case of swollen or sore lips as its antibacterial properties act fast on the affected area. All you need to do is take a cotton ball, dip it in approx 1-2 teaspoon of honey and apply it directly to the affected area. Repeating this process twice-thrice a day will help you kiss those swollen lips goodbye!
